Singapore – Marina Bay Sands SkyPark
Rooftop bars seem to have become “the thing” over the past few years, and for good reason. There’s nothing like having a cold one with friends in the fresh air. Add a great view and a little music, and you’ve got the recipe for the perfect hang.
All you need for a rooftop top bar is, well, a roof…and a bar, right? Now I’ve been many rooftop bars; from cozy, quaint spots in Tucson, Arizona; to outrageous and over-the-top venues like SkyBar in Hollywood. But I don’t think any roof-top bar is quite extreme (and cool) as Sands SkyPark in Singapore!
While exploring Singapore’s Marina Bay, you can’t help but notice this towering set of three giant buildings topped with this space-ship looking surfboard/banana shaped cap.
The Singapore government spent $35 million to complete the 3.5 km Waterfront Promenade around Marina Bay. It includes an eco-friendly visitor centre and The Helix bridge, linking Bayfront to Marina Centre where the Youth Olympic Park is located. The Promontory at Marina Bay is used as an event space for activities like theaters and carnivals.
Up top, the 1.2 hectare tropical oasis is longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall and large enough to park four-and-a-half A380 jumbo jets. It extends to form one of the world’s largest public cantilevers. The park features multiple restaurants and bars and rows of palm trees lined up along the world’s largest rooftop infinity pool.
A ticket up to Sands SkyPark on the 57th floor will cost you $22, but don’t bring your swim trunks just yet. Unfortunately only hotel guests have access to the pool. But it looks awesome…I wish I would’ve booked the hotel!
There’s nothing like sipping a cold draft beer checking out the Singapore sunset.
Cheers to you!

Absolutely stunning video/photos of that place! The best rooftop bars I have been to are from Las Vegas – the Rio and Mandalay Bay. This view at Sands SkyPark beats them hands down, though. Probably because of its marina location. I would prefer water over desert scenery any time!
Ahhh, thank you Weech!!!
