You Won’t Belize It
Well…I have failed you. It’s hard for even me to believe that there was a time in my life when travel didn’t excite me. But there was.
There was actually a period of my life, when I would travel–mostly cruises, with my family–that I didn’t have that travel “bug;” that unquenchable thirst for exploration, to see it all, as much as I could. I didn’t dislike traveling, but I think I didn’t carry even ten percent of the enthusiasm I have today, because the travel was simply too organized. Piling off a cruise ship with 1,000 other American tourists and getting on a bus to see the main square for three hours never really did it for me. Of course, I’d soon discover my true passion for travel: going solo to off-the-beaten-track places to see things most have never even dreamed of…and well, you know the rest of the story.
Belize was only the fifth country I’d ever visited; I was so new at traveling, I only snapped one photo…one photo!!!
Honestly, I got nothin’ for you. Belize was stop on a cruise with mom. We got off, saw some pyramids, then got back on the boat. I am really, really looking forward to heading back to Belize one day soon, next time to stay and explore a while. I’ll be back…you betta Belize it!

Once you complete your mission to visit every country in the world, then I suggest you make Belize the first “return country.”
For most people, 7 – 10 days is plenty if you just divide your time between San Ignacio and Caye Caulker.
I did 2 1/2 weeks, which was more than enough to see the bulk of the country, but I also got to have some quirky adventures along the way with the people I met.
Let me know if you ever want advice or tips of what to see or do there when you finally commit to a return visit!
Awesome thanks! How are the people?
